There has been many enhancements to the new version which have help many users to improve their current workflow and overcome some of the earlier limitations. I’ll be sharing/explaining some of the cool enhancements which I feel would be helpful to majority of SOLIDWORKS users.
Measure Tool Enhancements
With SOLIDWORKS 2018 measure tool has been given more powers.
- Now it lists 6 selections instead of three like in earlier versions.
- You can adjust the front size using the increase/decrease buttons.
- If you hover over a numeric value, the value gets highlighted and a copy icon is shown over the value. Clicking on that would copy the value along with the units to clipboard which you can paste anywhere as desired. In earlier version, a user has to first select the value and then use copy option to copy the value and/or units. But this is all in one go. I’m so loving this option.
- You can set the measure window to stay active and pinned to the screen. Simply use the pin on the measure window.
Over the next few weeks, I would be sharing more details on the new enhancements of SOLIDWORKS 2018, so stay tuned and happy reading!!
