There has been many enhancements to the new version which have help many users to improve their current workflow and overcome some of the earlier limitations. I’ll be sharing/explaining some of the cool enhancements which I feel would be helpful to majority of SOLIDWORKS users.
Mouse Gestures Enhancements
With SOLIDWORKS 2018 Mouse Gestures have been greatly enhanced with now options to set 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, or 12 gestures. With just 2 mouse gestures, you can set them horizontal or vertical.
The User Interface for the setting up the mouse gesture has been made easier to use. Now you see a visual drag-and-drop user interface called mouse gesture guides (instead of columns in earlier version) to set the desired commands. This makes it easier to set them. You can simply drag mouse gestures from one guide to another or list of commands.
Further if you hover your pointer over an icon in the mouse gesture guide, the tool-tip would show the command name.
And in addition, icons for many commands like Pack and Go, Collapse all Items, Hide All Types, etc have been added which you can add to your mouse gesture helping you to improve your productivity by reducing the mouse travel or extra clicks.
So now your mouse has more power with enhanced mouse gesture.
Over the next few weeks, I would be sharing more details on the new enhancements of SOLIDWORKS 2018, so stay tuned and happy reading!!
