Recognize Folders easily in the FeatureManager Design Tree
With SOLIDWORKS 2018 the folders icons in the featuremanager design tree have been greatly enhanced which makes it easier to get the state of components or features in the models. In earlier version if the folder icon would only change if all components or features it contains are suppressed. And if they are hidden or have mixed state, there was no change in folder icon. But now with SOLIDWORKS 2018 one can easily know the state of the components or features in a folder from the icon itself.
In assembly there are 7 different situations with various states of the components. The folder icons would show shown, hidden, suppressed or combinations of states of various components/items.
Here is what are the different folder icons in assembly featuremanager design tree would mean.
In Parts, there are 3 different situations with various states of the features. The folder icons would show unsuppressed, suppressed or both states of various features/items.
Here is what are the different folder icons in part featuremanager design tree would mean.
Also when you hover your pointer over these folder, you would see a tool tip about the state of components/items it contains.
So now it would be more easier to recognize the state of the components/features/items contained within a folder in the models.
Over the next few weeks, I would be sharing more details on the new enhancements of SOLIDWORKS 2018, so stay tuned and happy reading!!
